Vaporizer cleaning and airline transportation?

Hello, I have a vaporizer that I lent out to a friend who then used it to smoke marijuana. I use the vaporizer for mint leaves and such. I will be moving across the country and would like to bring my vaporizer to my new home, however I worry that the marijuana residue will be left over on the vaporizer and I will get in trouble for this (I'm traveling by plane). Any ideas on how I can transport the vaporizer or clean it so it will not draw unwanted attention? My friend had the vaporizer for 2months and I believe he used it a lot.
