In J. Howard Miller's Image "We Can Do It!", what is the patch on the woman's collar supposed to be?
Often called "rosie the riveter", this WWII poster shows a working woman flexing her bicep. On the collar of her shirt is a patch, but I can't make out the detail in any of the images I find online. Is it a patch for a union?
The image on the patch appears to be a picture of Rosie herself. You can see the spots on the woman's kerchief, and the woman's face. If this is true, then it may be just a symbol like of union or group of women banding together. This is my guess.
