Introducing the New Powis Parker Fastback Image Strip

Powis Parker Fastback recently announced that they were introducing a brand new product to the binding world. They call this new product the "Image Strip" and it is designed for use with the Fastback model 9 binding machine. The new Image Strip is a fully color digitally printed tape binding strip that provides users with the ability to enhance their brand by adding their name, logo and customized graphics to the spine of their documents. This new strip wraps around the spine of a document and boldly displays your customized graphics while still allowing you to use covers that are produced on demand with the name of your customer or the title of your report.

The savvy business person knows that every document a company produces should help sell the company's products or services. Yet, all too often, opportunities are missed when it comes to office-produced documents. Every document you show to your clients and potential customers is an ambassador for your company. The better they look, the better your company looks and the more your brand is enhanced.

With the Powis Image Strip, you can help your company stand out from the competition. Fastback Image strips are fully compatible with Powis Clear or Composition Covers, and they can take the most ordinary document and turn it into something extraordinary that everyone will notice.

With the introduction of the Image Strip, the simplicity and accessibility of corporate branding and marketing suddenly is a whole lot easier. Every document you bind instantly promotes your brand. Plus, using the Image strip can help your company to bring consistency to the way your brand is presented with bound proposals. Larger companies can even use Image Strips that are tailored for individual departments, reinforcing your brand, while at the same time improving document tracking. The possibilities are endless... It's time to get noticed.

Powis Parker has chosen to offer three distinct Image Strip Options that are sure to meet the needs of every type of business, from the smallest design firm to the largest corporation. These three types of Image Strips come with different price points corresponding to their level of customization; This provides users with a wide range of options and possibilities.

1. The first tier of Image Strip is called the Theme Strip. With the Theme Strip you can choose from an array of strips that have been designed with attractive images. These strips are only a few cents more than the classic Fastback Super Strip, which has been offered by Fastback for more than a decade.

2. The second tier of Image Strip is called Branded Strip. This option allows you to put your company name and/or logo on the Theme Strip of your choice; providing you with a much higher level of personalization. This strip is a few cents more than the Theme Strip and requires a one time file prep fee.

3. The third tier of Image Strip is called Custom Image Strip. This option allows you to create a strip that is totally custom and unique to your company. You can design this strip in house using a template and or you can hire your Powis Parker dealer or the Powis Design Team to create two proofs for you. This strip is the most custom option offered by Powis Parker and is an excellent choice for organizations that are looking to fully control the way that their brand is presented to both current and prospective customers.

The new Fastback Image Strip is different than any other binding style currently available on the market. Its professional look, innovative design and the branding opportunities that it represents are sure to make this new strip a huge hit among companies large and small.

people have said to have strips of cheetah print you use celery as the stamp does that actually work?

okay so people say you use celery as a stamp, you dip it in the dye and then stamp it on your hair. does that workk? like if you had that done then please answer thiss! and a step by step thing would be cool too (:

i agree with the oter guy up there. stripes and spots are way out. natural is in. but if you HAVE to, there's no reason why it won't work.

When is the end of the Bronze Age? It was actually a debated question. In fact, some do not believe it ended at all. Like the beginning, the exact date is fuzzy, and not a single comic book may be said ti have exited the Bronze Age at exactly the same date.

One commonly used ending point for the Bronze Age is in 1985-1986 time frame. Like the Silver Age, the ending of the Bronze Age relates to a number of trends and events that is happening around the same time. At that point, DC comics completed its special event, Osiris on Infinite Earths, which marked the revitalization of the company's product line to become a serious market challenger to Marvel again. This time frame also includes the company's release of the highly acclaimed works, Watchmen by Alan Moore and Dave Gibbons and Batman: The Dark Knight returns by Frank Miller which redefined the superhero genre and inspired years of grim and gritty comic books.

At Marvel Comics however, the commonly used marking the end of Bronze Age is the release of Secret Wars. Although this could be the extension to 1986 which saw the cancellation of Defenders, Power Man and iron Fist, both were Marvel's longest running titles launched in the 70s. The launch of the New Universe and X-Factor.

The growth of the internet in the 1990s have also hurt all print media industries and increasingly many comic titles could only be found in bookstores and specialty shops. Today, modern comics have to compete for shelf space with the Japanese import Manga.

Comicsage is an online store that offers all types of comic books from different era. Browse hundreds of comics and find the one you are looking for at Comicsage.

Have idea for story tell me if you like it and should I try to get it published as comic or on-line?

A meteor falls to earth and lands in lake.People go swimming, fishing and what not in lake and most die but a few survive and are pulled by a unknown force to scatter across America. years later all gain super powers and the only one who stayed in the little town where they all lived sets out to find the others and prevent them from conquering the world.of course while he's hunting these people he helps out anyone who needs help and often finds out one of the people he's hunting for are leading the bad guys. In the end they ether get trapped in a crystal he holds in the palm of his hand or they get away and he hits the road looking for them and the others once again.Well what do you think of it? Should I try to get it published as a comic or on-line OR forget about it?
hay! That's my idea!
handle I hope you get craps!
You all stole my little idea.I hope your happy.I sure ain't.YAWWWWWW!!!

My advice: DON'T POST YOUR IDEAS ON THE INTERNET!!!!

You're merely giving people your ideas and intellectual property!

Share Your Growth Vision by Telling Your Story Better

You want to grow to being a much larger organization. That means adding a lot more customers and beneficiaries.

As hard as it is to figure out how to achieve that kind of goal, it's even harder to explain what needs to be done to colleagues, partners, suppliers, distributors, and others who need to help you. This article describes how you can use a simple story to get the point across.

Here's an example of such a story that I use to explain the importance of playing a big enough role in peoples' lives when designing breakthroughs to deliver more results:

"One of my students who was a missionary pilot wanted to develop a breakthrough solution for flying relief supplies in war-ravaged and drought-stricken areas. He initially focused on flight safety, on-time arrival at the landing strips, and other flight-related measurements. I pointed out to him that what he was focusing on didn't make any difference if the food, medicines, and supplies didn't rapidly get to the people who most needed them.

"Refugees were starving for lack of timely food arrivals and officials didn't know what to do to improve.

"Responding to that observation, the student chose instead to see his job as supervising a system for delivering the supplies to those who needed them. This focus meant coordinating with those who trucked and carried the food from the airstrips and being sure that distribution methods were effective in refugee camps and other disaster relief areas. With that shift in focus, food and medicine began arriving sooner and in greater quantities for those who had the greatest need.

"Imagine if everyone took a similarly broad view of being sure that results are improved for those most in need."

Turn your idea into a brief, interesting story, of less than 150 words, that you can tell others to describe the opportunity presented by your idea. A good resource for developing that story can be found in Stephen Denning's book, The Springboard (Butterworth-Heinemann, 2001).

Here are the elements you should put into a positive story:

-A short statement of the problem ("Refugees were starving for lack of timely food arrivals.")

-Wording that puts the listener into the story to feel the bare bones of the predicament (" . . . and officials didn't know what to do to improve.")

-A protagonist people can relate to who is like themselves; for example, missionary pilots want to hear about their colleagues ("One of my students who was a missionary pilot . . . ")

-A protagonist who employs the indicated approach (" . . . wanted to develop a breakthrough solution for flying relief supplies in war-ravaged and drought-stricken areas.")

-A description of the solution to the problem (" . . . the student chose instead to see his job as supervising a system for delivering the supplies to those who needed them.")

-A real or potential happy ending ("With that shift in focus, food and medicine began arriving sooner and in greater quantities for those who had the greatest need.")

-A statement that alerts the listener or reader to the potential of this resolution ("Imagine if everyone took a similarly broad view of being sure that results are improved for those most in need.")

-An ending that leaves the listener to draw her or his own conclusions about what to do next.

Tell your story and use the feedback you receive to improve your story. Also keep track of the concerns that people raise about your story. Address those concerns by improving your story and great understanding will follow.

What book hooked you?

I never liked to read when I was young. Then, when I was about eleven or twelve, someone gave me a book called "The Flight of the Eagles" by Gilbert Morris. I reluctantly started to read it, and I didn't stop. Ever since that day I was hooked on reading books. The book filled me with intrigue, and opened my eyes to the different worlds books could bring me to, and I fell in love with it.

So, what's your story? What book was the clincher for you, and turned you onto reader? And why?

I don't remember any one book that I read that caught me, but it can't have hurt that my dad read me the Lord of the Rings trilogy and Jules Verne for bedtime stories. I don't remember why I got LOTR, but I'm pretty sure I asked for 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea and maybe Around the World in 80 Days because of the now-classic movie versions with Kirk Douglas and David Niven respectively.

What Kind of Gift Do Children Want for Christmas?

I work in an elementary school and the winter weather in our beautiful rainy country does not allows children to play in the garden. So, I always have to look for activities to occupy the children.

Last week, on a rainy day, children were unable to play in the garden, I thus tried to entertain them by asking them what they wanted as a Saint Nicholas gift.

Belgian people - as well as in the Netherlands, Germany, France and some Eastern Europe Countries - celebrate and dedicate Saint Nicholas (SinterKlaas) to children. Saint Nicholas is the Great Patron of Schoolboys and penetrates into our houses on December 6th.

One week before December 6th, each night, Saint Nicholas brings sweets in the slippers of good children (traditional version) or one month before December 6th, he brings many more sweets in the slippers of our good children (this is the commercial version).

Shopping malls also organize Saint Nicholas areas that consist in displaying scenes made from toys; such as train sets simulating real situations or houses full of old fashioned dolls. Children have also the opportunity to meet Saint Nicholas and communicate their wish list to him.

A picture of Saint Nicholas holding our child on his laps generally closes this fairy journey.

On December 5th Eve, parents and children dress the dining room table with a plate full of cookies and a glass of milk for Saint Nicholas, a carrot for his ass.

On December 6th, early in the morning, the glass is empty, the carrot has been eaten, and there are only crumbs of biscuits. Do not worry, parents do not have to eat these sweets and vegetables.

The table is now lined with dozens of toys, sweets, marzipan, chocolate bars...

Saint Nicholas has a companion: Père Fouettard (Zwarte Piet or Black Pete) who punishes wicked children.

Belgian children generally receive clothes and books at Christmas.

It appears that children have an immoderate passion for video game consoles, such as Playstation (3 of course) or WII... while the heroes of American comic strips become the heroes of Belgian children.

Here are the toys kids want to receive as a Saint Nicholas or Christmas gift:

For boys and girls aged of 10 years old and more:

- Playstation
- Nintendo DS
- WII
- XBox 360

If they received the video game console already, they wish to receive video games, such as Dragonball, Street Fighter, Medal of Honor... The young generation seems to love violent games.

Boys aged between 4 years old and 10:

- Jeep or Helicopter
- Tractor
- Batman
- Spiderman
- comic strip heroes accessories

Girls aged between 4 years old and 10:

- Barbie
- Doll house
- Doll accessories
- Books

Some of these children love music and they asked to Saint Nicholas or Santa Claus (sometimes both) to bring them an electric guitar or drums.

A romantic young girl wishes to receive a diary such as the one of Bridget Jones.

As for my fifteen years old son, he asked for books. What kind of books? Manga Comic strips.

All children wish to receive: chocolate, marzipan, candy, etc.

Finally, traditions are important for our children: no Saint Nicholas and no Christmas time without sweets.

Cartoon & Caricatures & Irfan Khan

Cartoon & Caricatures & Irfan Khan

All children and old men think alike when they hear the name Spiderman spoken of! Isn’t it? Well yes! Not because that great guy has got a colorful dress, in red and blue and has the power to race against the wind, keeping himself high above the crowd and traffics! But because he was silent all the time however the readers world over were reading him aloud. Well, tell me where did you first meet this great guy? Not in your lawn, I bet. Yes, neither he resides in your neighbor-hood nor mine – but we all know him. How?

Yes, I know what your answer is! Spider-man was born in books as a sketch, a cartoon – However he captured all our hearts and minds through his views and thoughts. Yes! Now that’s what we call the power of Cartoons!

Cartoon & Caricatures which complete the name Irfan Khan are today in much vogue as people all over the world are now astonished at his skill in cartooning.  Go watch them now @ http://www.cartoonsbyirfan.com/gallery.php

Cartoons – loved by all the ages are not mere disfigured sketches in black & white, but rather are more alive than the most of the living groups.

Cartoons – have got the power to speak truth in the most humble way!

Cartoons – don’t fear to be like or disliked, they are very honest in their manner and they mirror the real complex life in simple and plain manner.

Political cartoons are the ones seen mostly in everyday newspapers: They convey such important messages yet appear to be funny all the time. How simple are they! Wonderful, isn’t it?

Well, Irfan is not one such who would restrict himself to a single category – He’s put himself into almost everything: Ask for children’s funny stripes, for terrific terrorist stuff or for political cartoons – he has it all.

Few of his most famous works include:

Political Cartoons
Terrorism Cartoons
Environment Cartoons
Daily Delhi Cartoons
Children Strips
Gags
Caricatures etc.,

Go check them out, Now!

Read some of these, they are actual scripts from 15 / 16 year old'sGCSEpapers.........God help us !?

1. Ancient Egypt was inhabited by mummies and they all wrote inhydraulics. They lived in the Sarah Dessert and traveled by Camelot. The climate of the Sarah is such that the inhabitants have to live elsewhere.
2. The Bible is full of interesting caricatures. In the first book of the Bible, Guinessis, Adam and Eve were created from an apple tree.Oneof their children, Cain, asked, "Am I my brother's son?"
3. Moses led the Hebrew slaves to the Red Sea, where they made unleavened bread which is bread made without any ingredients. Moses wentup on Mount Cyanide to get the ten commandments. He died before he ever reached Canada.
4. Solomom had three hundred wives and seven hundred porcupines.
5. The Greeks were a highly sculptured people, and without them we wouldn't have history. The Greeks also had myths. A myth is a femalemoth.
6. Actually, Homer was not written by Homer but by another man of that name.

ah and they'll be the people running the country in a few years....how reassuring
