Flight Aviation

With the direction that the economy is headed today, there is no doubt that the dream of being able to do something with your pilots license, is slowly slipping out of reach for many aspiring aviation enthusiasts.
If you already hold a private pilot license and you are considering to get your Instrument Rating, then it is strongly recommended that you get your hands on a good IFR flight simulator.
Why? This will allow you to accomplish 3 things:
1. Save money
Flying is expensive. Between the aircraft rental fees, fuel surcharges, and flight instructor fees, the costs can add up to the thousands.
Making use of an IFR flight simulator is definitely one way to reduce the costs of your instrument training and your your periodic instrument proficiency checks. The cost of a simulator is immeasurably cheaper than renting an actual aircraft.
So if the FAA allows you to log up to 20 hours of dual instruction with a simulator towards your instrument rating, then it would be foolish not to take advantage of it. In the current economic climate, it is prudent to be budget conscious.
2. Save time
Using an IFR flight simulator not only saves you money, but also saves time. It is much easier to hop onto a computer, launch the simulator program, and be "airborne" within minutes. Whereas, a real flight requires checking out the airplane, refueling, and performing a preflight inspection each time you go flying.
Bad weather can delay you getting your Instrument Rating. Rain, snow, low overcast clouds, and excessive wind can all result in canceled flight lessons. This can slow down your progress.
3. Getting In A Little Extra Practice
An IFR flight simulator also empowers you to get lots of extra practice. You are not restricted to flying only when the instructor and aircraft are available. So you can spend extra hours on the simulator above and beyond your standard flight training sessions.
These are the advantages of having your own IFR flight simulator.

You could go to the nearest municipal airport and at the airport there should be a flight school. At the flight school they should either have or know the location of any simulators in the area.
