Wedding Gifts
It used to be easy buying wedding gifts - give the young couple gifts for the house they're about to set up. Nowadays, however, many couples are not young, many have set up their house and are living together and so thinking of gift ideas for weddings is more uncertain. That's one reason we've set up this???? website. We want to make it easier for you to find gift ideas for every occasion - Baby Showers, Engagements, Bucks/Hens Parties, Weddings, Anniversaries, Birthdays, Christmas or any other occasion.
There are three basic wedding gift situations:
Young couple, not set up
This is the traditional wedding gift situation and they'll probably want more practical gifts for their home - kitchen utensils, bedding, lounge accessories (e.g. cushions, throw-overs, lamps), handy-man tools for house or car and, if you're really daring, ornaments. Cash isn't romantic but always Welcome!
Young couple, living together
Not so traditional, this couple may have much of the above and may well have been working hard to get possessions and home together. Giving the wedding gift of time is usually appreciated - a trip away (can be paid for by a group of you), a dinner out or a maid-for-a-day could provide a welcome break.
Older couple
Whether they're living together or not, they'll probably have everything they need. They have history so wedding gifts can include photo frames (empty or with family/friend photos inside), albums (empty or otherwise) and videos of family and/or friends. What are their hobbies - books, music CDs, gardening tools, golf club annual subscription or gym membership could be the gift for them.
Anniversary Gifts
In today's divorce-strewn marital floor, it's especially poignant when couples celebrate their anniversary... any anniversary! And so, what anniversary gifts make this a special occasion... what original gifts, unique gifts or personalised gifts show that you've really thought of this special occasion and the two people who've made it this far, however far they've made it. The traditional gifts for anniversaries are, with some anniversary gift ideas:
1 year - paper, pansies
Original edition of his daily newspaper on either the birth or wedding date. Write a love letter. New book or an old edition of a favourite book. An old postcard from a place that's special for the two of you and get it framed. Adult board game. Plane tickets. Tickets to a favourite sporting, cultural or music event.
5 years - wood, daisies
Bonsai plant. Weekend away in a log cabin. Wooden plaque engraved with words of love. A walk in the woods. Photo of you or of the two of you in a wooden frame. New fence or decking. Wooden furniture. Wood sculpture or carvings.
10 years - tin and aluminum, daffodils
Personalised number plate. Digital camera. Tin of caviar or foie gras. Tin toy airplane or car. Tin sign for his/her office or study. Aluminum watch.
25 years - silver, iris
Silver frame with a photograph of you. New watch. Silver ornaments. Silver pen. Silver cufflinks or key ring. Anniversary wedding band. Trip to the movies - the silver screen!
30 years - pearl, sweet pea
Oyster dinner (it's an aphrodisiac!). Pearl cufflinks or necklace. Mother-of-pearl handle, e.g. shaving brush or coat brush. Mother-of-pearl mosaic photo frame.
40 years - ruby, nasturtium
Have rubies put into your wedding rings - one for each of your children, or the number that corresponds to your anniversary month or wedding date. A dozen ruby-red roses. Ruby-red theme party. A bottle of vintage red wine.
50 years - gold, violets
Favourite golden oldies CD collection. Gold jewellery. Gold watch. Gold theme party
60 years - diamond
Diamond jewellery. Something very special to celebrate making it this far!

BUT I LOVE BOB DYLAN and i really want one of his VINTAGE t shirts the ones on ebay are basically composed of new ones from lucky brand and american apparel
